I was attempting the topsy turvy style and it didn't work so well. The filling I used for the cake was a custard which I had never tried before either. The custard was too soft and the cake was sliding all over the place.This cake was however one of the best tasting cakes I have ever had. It was a coconut cake with ginger-lime curd filling. So, despite being ugly, it tasted amazing.
It is also very hard to make a cake not at home. I had to cut the stars out by hand so they are pretty rough (thanks Nicole for doing those) and everything else needed a little improvising as well. Oh well, it was fun and well devoured.
